Savannah Lawrence, MSW
Chief Executive Officer
Savannah has her Master of Social Work with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Management, with experience in crisis intervention, mental health services, and grant writing. She lived in Hawaii for 3.5 years while her husband served in the USMC, and formerly was a track athlete at the University of North Alabama. Savannah enjoys scouring estate sales for prized items that she can resale and accumulating as many stray animals as she can convince her husband to have, hoping to one day have a petting zoo. She, her husband, and their animals currently reside in Valley Head, Alabama.
Jacob Kendall, MSW, MPH, PhD
Founder
Jacob has training in social work, public health, and gerontology from Tulane University and has taught social work and global health at the undergraduate level for several years. His interests in service-oriented organizations are tied to his experiences serving in retirement communities and faith-based settings, and his goal with Groundwork is to help improve health and well-being in communities through strengthening the organizations that serve those communities. He’s visited 25 countries, read over half the Pulitzer Prize winners in fiction, and viewed one total solar eclipse so far. He and his wife currently reside in Fairhope, AL.
